History
The Maine Council of the Atlantic Salmon Federation (MC-ASF) was established in the early 1980’s by a small number of individuals concerned with the plight of Maine’s dwindling wild Atlantic salmon runs. Today, the MC-ASF represents more than 2,500 individuals and is comprised of 26 different angling, conservation, education, and watershed organizations from across the state. This diverse membership is united in their passion for protecting and restoring wild Atlantic salmon (and other native fish species) and the riverine and coastal habitat on which they depend.
The Maine Council is an independent organization affiliated with the Atlantic Salmon Federation (ASF).
